After the success of last year, we're again supporting Mind, Dementia UK and Alzheimer's Society this quarter
Dementia UK - Dementia is a range of progressive conditions that affect the brain, this can affect a person at any age, however, is most common in people over the age of 65 – which prevents the ability to remember, think or speak. They claim that by 2025, all of us will know someone living with the condition. Some of their campaigns included ‘a better continuing healthcare system for dementia’ in which they promise to: work with admiral nurses and partners; support them to develop their knowledge of Dementia so they can support families affected with care; provide families with clear information as to what CHC is, eligibility and where to find it.
Alzheimer's Society - In the UK alone, someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s every 3 minutes, and there is currently no cure. Alzheimer’s Society aims to offer support to all those newly diagnosed with dementia, research into cure, care, and prevention – this is through the UK Dementia Research Institute, (where they are founding members) in which they will bring together more than 400 scientists to study the current symptoms, any courses and develop future treatments.

Mind - Every year, 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem. One of Mind’s campaigns was to improve the mental wellbeing for the young. Studies by the Charity showed that 96% of young people said their mental health has affected their schoolwork at some point, with 78% of students claiming school made their mental health worse, with the message from the young that academic achievement is being prioritised over wellbeing. They are therefore calling on their partners and the UK government to invest in early support hubs across England as part of their #Fundthehubs campaign. https://www.mind.org.uk/
